Narrator – Chelsea

Narrator – The boy Samuel ministered before the lord under Eli. In those days, the Word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions. One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord, where the arc of God was.

Lord: Samuel.

Samuel: Here I am (runs to Eli) Here I am, you called me.

Eli: I did not call, go back and lie down.  (Samuel returns to his spot and lies down.)

Lord: Samuel!

Samuel: Here I am, you called me. (Runs to Eli)

Eli: I did not call, go back and lie down.  (Samuel returns to his place and lies down.)

Narrator: Now, Samuel did not yet know the Lord, the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.

Lord: SAMUEL!

Samuel: Here I am you am, you called me Runs to Eli

Eli: I just realized the Lord is calling you. So go back and lie down and if the Lord calls you again say “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.”  (Samuel returns to his place and lies down.)

Lord Samuel. Samuel!

Samuel: Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.

Narrator: And the Lord spoke to Samuel and Samuel's word came to all Israel.
